
Maple Spiced Nuts
This delicious snack is perfect with drinks, as part of a cheeseboard, a protein boosting sprinkle over salads or just as a quick between meal treat
Equipment
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 weighing scales
- 1 Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 400 grams mixed nuts (walnuts, cashews, pecans, peanuts, almonds)
- 100 grams pumkin seeds
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic granules
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 165C
- Line a lipped baking tray with greaseproof paper or a silicone sheet
- In a large mixing bowl add the nuts and pumpkin seeds
- In a small bowl combine the maple syrup, butter, salt, vanilla, smoked paprika, oregano and garlic granules
- Pour the maple syrup and butter mixture over the nuts and seeds and mix well to coat all the nuts
- Spread the nuts and seeds over the baking tray in a single layer
- Bake in the oven, stirring after the first 10 minutes and then every 5 minutes until almost no maple syrup remains on the baking sheet and the nuts are deep golden brown
- Remove from the oven and stir once more then allow to cool. The maple syrup will harden as the nuts cool
- When cool, store in an airtight container
