Bakewell Tart Crumpets
A delicious, quick and easy take on Bakewell tart made with crumpets, jam and a simple frangipane mixture. Perfect with a cup of tea.
Equipment
- 1 Knife
- 1 small mixing bowl
- 1 Spoon
Ingredients
- 2 crumpets
- 2 tsp raspberry jam
- 25 grams ground almonds
- 5 grams softened butter
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 2 tsp runny honey or maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 1 handful flaked almonds
- 1 tsp icing sugar
Instructions
- Slice crumpets in half
- Spread the base of each crumpet with jam
- Place the other half of the crumpets back on top
- Prepare the frangipane by mixing the ground almonds, butter, almond extract, honey/maple syrup and egg in a mixing bowl until smooth and well combined
- Spoon the frangipane over the top of the crumpets and then scatter over flaked almonds
- Either cook in the airfryer or bake in the oven at 170C for 8-10 minutes until golden
- Dust with icing sugar before serving
