
Pear Flapjacks
Golden chewy flapjacks perfect for autumnal afternoons with a nice cuppa. Easy to put together and packed full of goodness
Equipment
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 small mixing bowl
- 1 Grater
- 1 measuring scales
- 1 Knife
- 1 9" square baking tin
Ingredients
- 2 pears
- 240 grams oats
- 80 grams butter
- 5 tbsp maple syrup (or honey)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom optional
- 2 tbsp ground flax and chia seeds optional
- 4 tbsp mixed seeds pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds etc
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180C
- Grease and/or line an 9" cake tin
- Melt the butter and maple syrup (or honey) in a small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds/ 1 minute
- Grate the pears coarsely into a large mixing bowl. Add the oats, seeds, spices and salt and mix well
- Add the butter mixture and stir to combine well
- Spoon into the prepared tin and press down the mixture, levelling the top with a spoon
- Bake for 30 minutes, turning the tin halfway to ensure even browning
- Leave to cool in the tin before cutting into 12 slices or squares
