Savoury Marmite Granola
Savoury granola might sound strange, but it's totally delicious and great to sprinkle over salads, on soups, smashed avocado on toast and its a great snack too straight from the jar. It's crunchy, salty with a great umami punch which makes it so moreish!
Equipment
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Baking Tray lined with greaseproof paper
- 1 Fork
Ingredients
- 400 grams tinned chickpeas drained and rinsed
- 50 grams chia seeds
- 40 grams flaxseeds ground
- 30 grams pumpkin seeds
- 30 grams sunflower seeds
- 100 ml water
- 1 tbsp marmite
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- salt & pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180C
- In a mixing bowl combine chia seeds, ground flaxseeds, water, marmite, garlic granules and salt and pepper to a thick paste
- Add chickpeas, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Siri well so everything is coated
- Tip onto a lined baking tray and lightly crush the chickpeas with a fork so everything sticks together in clumps
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, stirring a couple of times during cooking until golden and crispy. It's important not to remove from the oven until the granola is crispy and well browned
- Cool completely (it will get a bit crispier as it cools). Tip into an airtight jar to store
